Core Concepts

Sym Energy

A mysterious energy that affects genetic modifications and is found in various locations around Mars. Jack's body has a genetic modification that makes him dependent on Sym energy to function properly. Without sufficient Sym energy, he becomes unable to function, which explains his gradual decline. This energy does not occur naturally on Earth and would greatly transform the environment if present. On other planets, it appears as a purple fog in high-density areas and can be harnessed by humans to create various abilities and techniques. It can be circulated through the body using specific techniques and becomes denser and more solid with each circulation.

Theories

Template Hypothesis

A theory suggesting that evolutions were externally manipulated to follow a certain path with the specific goal to form humans in different environments. This hypothesis presumes the existence of another highly advanced species, potentially also a human species, that predates all known human species including the Rasp.

Emotional Inevitability Hypothesis

A theory arguing that consciousness and intelligence were secondary to the existence of emotion and social connections. This theory is based on the need for strong emotions to create desires, motivation, curiosity and other essential components of intelligence.

Biology & Genetics

Genetic Code

The biological instructions that control the functioning of an organism's cells. In Jack's case, his genetic code appears to have been modified, causing his body to gradually shut down.

Genetic Modification

The process by which Sym energy alters an organism's DNA. When an embryo or sperm cell is exposed to Sym energy, it obtains one set of genetic modifications out of hundreds of possibilities, leading to variety in effects. The modifications are targeted and limited, not random like radiation effects. In Jack's case, the modification likely occurred when he was still a sperm cell in his father's testicles, creating a Sym energy dependency that caused his gradual decline.

Alignment

The process by which Sym energy "fixes" genetic code to coexist with it, rather than causing over-modification or random mutations.

Medical Conditions

Nervous System Disease

A condition affecting the brain, spinal cord, or nerves. Jack's condition was initially suspected to be a nervous system disease but was ruled out by doctors.

Nystagmus

A condition causing involuntary eye movements, which was considered as a possible diagnosis for Jack's condition.

Epilepsy

A neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, which was the obvious choice for Jack's symptoms but was ruled out.

Technology & Abilities

Energy & Physics

Endothermic Reaction

A chemical reaction where external energy is needed to occur. The assistant uses this concept to explain how dimensional jumps work - similar to how certain salts dissolve in water and cool it down by absorbing heat energy from the environment.

Sym Energy Crystal

A crystalline structure found inside creatures' skulls that grows with perfect rectangular shapes reflecting their molecular geometry. These crystals appear to be related to Sym energy and may be used by creatures for energy storage or processing. They are valuable as energy sources and for military purposes, comparable to enriched uranium on Earth. Jack finds a shiny crystal in the creature's skull that he accidentally split open during his ability experiments. The crystals can be recognized by their dark purple color and high density of Sym energy, and are worth a lot as energy sources and for military purposes.

Transportation

Dimensional Jump

A method of transportation that allows an individual organism to be transported into another dimension. It is an emergency protocol that requires little resources and is easy to mass produce. The dimensional jump acts as an ignition that releases immense energy, which can then be used to travel to almost any point in the universe of that dimension. It is significantly lower in energy use compared to an inter-dimensional jump. The jump process involves borrowing energy and then using it to locate the correct planet, taking time rather than being instantaneous.

Inter-dimensional Jump

A more complex form of dimensional travel that requires extensive resources since it needs to start with a great amount of energy without the benefit of the dimensional jump energy release. Such devices were never mass produced by the Rasp.

Dimensional Inversion

A principle that takes care of the bulk of energy needed for dimensional jumps, allowing the device to draw energy from the environment rather than requiring the user to provide it.

Abilities

Sym Energy Abilities

Various abilities that humans can develop through Sym energy manipulation, including wound healing, sleep reduction, sense enhancement, telekinesis, teleportation, and energy conversion. Since each human obtains a different genetic modification, there is individuality in terms of Sym energy impact on humans.

Ability Creation

The process of developing techniques and applications for Sym energy accumulation areas. Abilities are not innate but must be created through creative ingenuity and training, similar to learning martial arts techniques. Just because you have two legs doesn't mean you know how to perform a spinning back kick - abilities work the same way. Once the location of Sym energy accumulation is identified, it's up to creative ingenuity to identify what can be done with it.

Sym Energy Accumulation

The process by which Sym energy is stored in specific areas of the body or brain. Part of the population can accumulate Sym energy somewhere inside their body based on their genetic modification. The location of accumulation is partially random but also partially hereditary. It is not uncommon to have children display similar Sym energy accumulation areas as their parents, and eugenics is a popular practice across many governments for this reason.

Body Accumulation

Sym energy accumulation in physical body parts such as muscles, organs, or limbs. This type of accumulation is generally regarded as less useful than brain accumulation, with only about 1% of the population having useful body-based abilities. Examples include condensing Sym energy in joints to increase arm speed, in skin to create armor, in eyes and ears for enhanced senses, in mouth and nose for culinary and hunting purposes, and in organs like heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys for health benefits.

Brain Accumulation

Sym energy accumulation in the brain, which is the most prestigious and sought-after type of ability. Only about 9% of the population have useful brain-based abilities, and those who do are guaranteed wealth and exceptional social standing. Brain areas often conduct multiple functions with many overlaps, making abilities unpredictable but also allowing for groundbreaking discoveries limited only by imagination.

Individual Abilities

Unique Sym energy-based powers that each person develops based on their specific genetic modification. These abilities vary greatly between individuals and can include enhanced strength, energy manipulation, and other supernatural capabilities.

Hand Fryer Ability

A heat generation ability that Jack learns for cooking food. He manages to heat the surfaces of his hands to nearly 200°C, allowing him to fry food directly in his hands without experiencing burns due to his body strengthening and high Sym energy accumulation.

Space-Related Abilities

A category of abilities related to spatial manipulation, including portal, teleportation, and storage abilities. These abilities correspond to similar brain regions and are often found in family members. The assistant explains that all these three abilities are corresponding to very similar brain regions and it is very common for siblings or close family members to exhibit such similarities in their abilities. The brain is like a map and similar abilities are related to parts of the brain that are in close proximity.

Space Connection

An ability that allows the user to connect two spaces and move between them at will, regardless of distance. This is one of the space-related abilities that Jack begins training. It was developed by natives who had Sym energy accumulation in a certain brain region and allows connecting two spaces that can be as far away as desired.

Portal Technique

A space-related ability that involves creating two portals connecting two spaces, allowing the user to step through and teleport between them. It is easier to learn than teleportation and more versatile, though it requires more energy to maintain. The technique involves creating condensed Sym energy as large and thin as possible, then connecting two distinct bodies of Sym energy to allow matter flow between them. Portals appear as oval-shaped purple mirrors with bulky edges containing dark purple fog. Daily practice is required to maintain proficiency. The assistant explains that portal technique is the easiest among space-related abilities and the most useful, allowing users to effectively move anywhere instantly and also use storage functions.

Teleportation Technique

A space-related ability that creates an unstable portal around the user's body that collapses instantly, making them disappear and reappear at another location. It is faster than portal technique but limited to short distances and more dangerous due to potential misalignment. The assistant explains that teleportation is not a way of moving the body from one space to another but rather a way of opening a door and having the body move through it. The door is placed around the body and collapses in an instant. Teleportation portals are generally unstable and could not be used like regular portals since they tend to collapse instantly.

Storage Ability

A sophisticated space-related ability that involves creating an extra dimension controlled by the user for storing objects or hiding themselves. This ability is highly complex and dangerous, with reports of deaths and disappearances. The assistant explains that this ability involves the creation of a space that allows the user to store objects in it or even hide themselves. It is highly sophisticated since it involves the creation of an extra dimension that is controlled by the user. Little has been reported on this ability by the Rasp but there were rumors of deaths and disappearances involved with this technique. A user might create a dimension to transport objects or a person but then later lose the ability to access that specific dimension.

Mind Control Resistance

Jack's natural resistance to mind control abilities due to his high Sym energy density in his body and brain. This resistance prevents external mental interference, with the assistant able to nullify any brain wave interference that might penetrate his defenses, making him immune to telepathic attacks.

Techniques

Microcosmic Orbit

An energy circulation technique from tantric practices where energy is moved from the root of the pelvis up alongside the back side of the body and up the spine into the head, then back down into the navel area. This technique can be used to circulate and store Sym energy in the body. Jack uses this technique to circulate Sym energy, which makes it denser and more solid with each circulation. The energy feels like a dense cloud moving through his body and provides healing, strength, and pain relief.

Tantric Practices

Spiritual and energy manipulation techniques that Jack studied when he was 18-19 years old. These practices involve separating orgasm from ejaculation and circulating sexual energy through the body for increased vitality and multiple orgasms. Jack practiced these techniques for about a year when he was desperate to improve his health, learning about the difference between orgasm and ejaculation and how to have multiple orgasms without ejaculation. He stopped because it took a lot of effort and didn't help his health condition.

Positional

Half-Lotus Position

A meditation posture that Jack uses when training his portal ability. He sits in this position and circulates his energy along the microcosmic orbit while the assistant guides energy into specific brain regions.

Devices

Emergency Assistant

An AI device created by the Rasp that merges with a host to provide emergency functions. It can access memories, intercept thought patterns, and provide dimensional jump capabilities. It is designed as a single-use escape device for security purposes and was a low-resource-use mass production item essential in planetary exploration. The assistant has a calm and mechanical voice and can communicate directly with the host through thought patterns.

Seed Device

The physical device that merges into a host's chest, splitting into millions of small devices of different sizes for different purposes. It affects nearly all areas of the body and connects to the brain to provide assistant functions.

Sym Energy Crystal Bullet

A projectile weapon powered by 5 artificial Sym energy crystals that can penetrate multiple layers of Jack's barriers. This weapon represents advanced military technology that can overcome Jack's defensive abilities, suggesting the existence of sophisticated weapon development outside the known alliances.

Brain Implant Device

A Sym device embedded in assassins' brains that allows for remote activation and execution. This device serves as a fail-safe mechanism to kill rebellious or fleeing assassins on the spot, demonstrating the organization's complete control over its operatives and their willingness to eliminate any threats to operational security.

Encrypted Communicators

Temporary communication devices used by the secret organization for mission coordination. These devices are encrypted, used only once per mission, and then discarded to prevent tracing. Each sending device is temporary and thrown away after every mission, demonstrating the organization's extreme caution and operational security.

Subordination Bots

Advanced technology that retains an individual's personality while enforcing obedience to commands. These bots act as guardrails that intervene minimally, only when absolutely necessary. Subordinated individuals cannot plan against Jack, actively harm him, lie to him, or help others go against him, while maintaining their original personalities and casual demeanor. Miniature devices created by the assistant for mind control and interrogation purposes. These bots are inspired by existing mind-control devices in the world and can be excreted through saliva. When applied to a creature's wound, they allow the assistant to read the creature's mind and control its brain, including the ability to make it stop or kill itself if needed. This represents a significant expansion of the assistant's original emergency functions.

Miscellaneous

Dimensional Prison

Jack's innovative method of trapping enemies by transporting them to the bat dimension using their own portal abilities. This prison system works by exploiting the fact that portal abilities require dimensional links to function, making escape impossible when trapped in an alternate dimension without proper connections.

Barrier Prison

A mobile prison system using bat creatures' barrier abilities to contain prisoners in toxic environments. The barrier blocks out harmful Sym energy while providing breathable air inside, creating an effective containment system that prevents escape while maintaining prisoner survival in otherwise lethal conditions.

Flora & Fauna

Creatures

Organisms on the target planet that have been genetically modified by Sym energy. They are distinct from animals and resemble aquatic species, particularly octopus-like creatures with tentacles, legs, or wings. They are typically 5 meters tall, weigh about 2 tons, and are extremely fast and dangerous. They have a predatory nature and kill humans on sight. Their skin is incredibly hard and resistant to damage. They can sense humans within 500 meters even with obstructed vision. They seem to be able to accumulate Sym energy naturally as opposed to humans who cannot tolerate high-density energy. They taste like fish, are high in omega-3 fatty acids, and are particularly delicious due to the Sym energy which adds a smoky taste to them.

Humanoid Creature

A dark purple creature with fog around it that appears to be leading a caravan of 50 creatures. It has human-like features but is not human, and can control other creatures with incredible speed and strength. It can punch large creatures 100 meters away and appears to be intelligent and hostile.

Bat Creature

Flying creatures native to high-density Sym energy planets with owl-like faces and bat-like bodies. These creatures have wing spans of over five meters, fangs on their wings and hands, and can breathe fire by forming large balls of fire with their wings. They possess levitation abilities and telepathic communication skills. The creatures are asexual and reproduce through cloning with involvement of the entire flock. They become highly social when joining flocks and demonstrate subordination to the strongest members.

Alpha

Jack's pet bat creature with telepathic abilities, named for being the first creature he captured and controlled. Alpha has a wing span of over five meters, owl-like facial features, and fire-breathing abilities. The creature was captured after Jack wounded it in combat and then used subordination bots to control it. Alpha demonstrates high intelligence and can communicate telepathically, making it useful for combat and exploration purposes.

Creature Caravan

A group of approximately 50 creatures moving together in perfect harmony like a herd of elephants, led by a humanoid creature. This behavior contradicts everything Jack knows about creatures, which should be naturally hostile towards each other.

Flock Behavior

The social organization system of bat creatures where they form groups with clear leaders. The creatures are not very social in early years but become highly social when joining a flock. They demonstrate subordination to whoever is strongest, with multiple groups of bats following one clear leader. This behavior makes them potentially controllable through strength demonstrations.

Animals

Organisms on the target planet that Jack would recognize, similar to Earth animals. Some are unaffected by Sym energy while others show genetic modifications.

In Chapter 16, he successfully steals a vehicle from the creature-infested garage using his portal abilities and the assistant's help to unlock the car. In Chapter 17, he has a conversation with a humanoid creature that can speak an ancient language, learns about their concept of "order," and develops a detection ability to sense moving objects.

Family

Jack's Father

A space explorer and astronaut who has been to Mars multiple times and brought back the mysterious stone. He is among the first manned Mars missions and has been to the planet twice, preparing for his third mission. He works as an astronaut and is usually composed and calm, rarely showing emotion. He is not allowed to bring objects back from Mars missions due to regulations. In Chapter 2, he returns from his third Mars mission and brings Jack the Mars stone, breaking down emotionally in the process. He risked everything to fulfill Jack's teenage wish for a Mars stone, spending years on missions to bring it back. He cries openly in front of Jack, showing raw emotion that Jack has never seen from his usually stoic father.

Jack's Mother

Jack's mother who visits him regularly in the hospital. She works at a large investment bank and visits Jack every Sunday, holding his hand for hours during her visits. She never gave up on her son despite his condition and argued with Jack's father about his Mars missions, wanting him to stay home. She has brought birthday cakes to the hospital and invited nurses to celebrate with her. She cries louder than usual during visits and brings cake for Jack's birthdays, though she struggles to wish him happy birthday directly.

Hospital Staff

Tim

Lance's son, a 14-year-old boy who is also a refugee. He is quiet and has suffered the most from anxiety during their journey.

Officer Faber

A senior military officer in Gosi City, responsible for security and the processing of refugees. He is experienced, cautious, and ultimately arranges Jack's trading license and documents in exchange for Sym energy crystals.

Luz

Brother of Ark, Morena, and Juz. Mentioned as part of the Salting merchant family traveling with the group of refugees.

Margi

An old woman Jack meets in a religious city, who explains the split between the Serenity and Abundance Sects. She is deeply religious and knowledgeable about local culture.

The General (South Alliance)

The Supreme General of the South Alliance, a gruff and authoritative leader who interacts with Jack during negotiations about the war and the fate of the cities under attack.

The President (South Alliance)

The President of the South Alliance, who meets with Jack and the Supreme General to discuss his actions and intentions regarding the war and the alliances.

Merchants

Ark

A merchant and brother of Morena and Juz, part of the Salting merchant family. He is grateful and caring, often putting others' needs before his own. He helps Jack establish his trading business and provides him with identification documents.

Morena

A shrewd businesswoman and sister of Ark and Juz. She is confident, clever, and good at negotiations. She is in her late thirties and demonstrates strong leadership qualities within the merchant group.

Juz

Brother of Ark and Morena, who loses his leg during the escape from Jalk City when hit by a creature's attack. He is gravely injured and suffers from infection until Jack heals him using advanced healing techniques.

Refugees

Lance

A refugee father traveling with his family after fleeing Jalk City. He is the father of Laura and Tim, and husband of Gina. He works as a butcher and helps prepare food for the group during their journey.

Gina

Lance's wife and mother of Laura and Tim. She is part of the refugee family that joins the merchants after fleeing Jalk City during the creature attack.

Military & Government

Family

Fey

A young girl from the Ashton family with a spatial ability that allows her to sense other dimensions. She is the daughter of Carl Ashton and sister of Viva. Initially considered useless due to her ability's limitations, she becomes Jack's student to develop her powers.

Carl Ashton

The patriarch of the Ashton family, a powerful businessman and influential figure in the city. He is the father of Fey and Viva, and runs a major trading organization. He negotiates with Jack for Sym energy crystals and arranges for Fey to study with him.

Viva Ashton

The butler of the Ashton family and sister of Fey. She is also the daughter of Carl Ashton and serves as the family's head butler, managing the household and assisting with family affairs.

Locations

Planets

Earth

The planet where Jack and humanity reside. The Rasp were aware of Earth but followed their No Contact Policy, observing the culture from a distance.

Mars

The red planet where Jack's father found the mysterious stone and where the Rasp had an outpost. Jack's father has been on multiple missions to Mars and Jack has persistently asked for a Mars stone since age 12. The Rasp outpost was abandoned approximately 5000 years ago and was used for research purposes. Jack's father went to Mars for the third time specifically to bring back a stone for Jack.

Planet AXY-234218098

The target planet for Jack's dimensional jump, located at coordinates 12.35642° N 134.61558° W. It is approximately 50 times larger than Earth with similar climate variations, a moon, and a sun. The planet has 20% of its surface covered in high-density Sym energy and 80% in low-density Sym energy. The population was estimated at 3 billion 5000 years ago, with current estimates ranging from 50 to 400 billion inhabitants. The gravity is 12% higher than Earth, and the atmosphere composition is nearly identical in terms of nitrogen and oxygen. The planet has approximately 3000 languages. The high-density Sym energy area is populated by extremely violent and dangerous creatures that have inhabited the area for at least 50,000 years.

Earth Locations

Hospital

The medical facility where Jack is being treated for his condition. He was hospitalized at age 22 and lies in a comfortable hospital bed, fully paralyzed and unable to move, speak, or open his eyes. The hospital is described as largely a care facility with no surgical department. It is a remote care facility that mostly takes on comatose and paralyzed patients, located in a part of the country where earthquakes are unheard of. The hospital has premium rooms that patients can pay extra fees for, and Jack's room has a beautiful view across the garden with multiple hours of direct sunlight. The hospital is located further outside the city where Jack lived.

University

Jack attended university and received an athletic scholarship to play football at one of the top three universities in the country, though this scholarship was lost when his health declined. He studied Inorganic Chemistry II.

Planet AXY-234218098 Locations

Mountainous Terrain

The type of terrain in the high-density Sym energy area where Jack will arrive. The area is generally bare with almost no plants or animals growing due to the hostile environment.

Organizations & Cultures

Rasp

An advanced society that had an outpost on Mars approximately 5000 years ago. They created the emergency assistant device and have sufficient resources, inhabiting 50 planets in varying dimensions. Their main objective is space exploration to find new planets that can be terraformed into inhabitable planets without interacting with existing civilizations. They follow a strict No Contact Policy.

No Contact Policy

A policy enforced by the Rasp where new cultures are to be observed until they make contact with Rasp, not the other way around. This policy is strictly enforced.

Rasp Survival Protocols

Standard survival protocols for outpost researchers that involve securing shelter and nutrition. The assistant plans to follow these protocols after Jack's arrival on the target planet.

Alliances

Three Major Alliances

The three primary warring factions on the planet: Cibolas Alliance, South Alliance, and West Alliance. These alliances control 35% of the planet's surface and cover 95 countries out of over 1,500 recognized nations. The alliances have been at war for over 70 years, though individual disputes date back hundreds or thousands of years.

Cibolas Alliance

A democratic state with a strong economy and exceptional quality of life, led by the country of Cibolas. This alliance represents the closest thing to a truly democratic state among the three major factions. The alliance is known for its economic strength and high standard of living for its citizens.

South Alliance

Military autocracies led by the country of Silvant, which includes Motola (home of the Ashton family). Countries in this alliance have strong military cultures and can be seen as military governments since even politicians and representatives wear military uniforms. The alliance is characterized by autocratic rule and military dominance in governance.

West Alliance

The largest country on the planet, led by Seinas, with a highly religious government system similar to a monarchy. Despite its size, little is known about this alliance from the outside. The alliance is characterized by religious influence in governance and monarchical structures.

Other Organizations

Secret Organization

An unknown group that employs assassins across all regions of the planet, operating independently of any nation or government. This organization has its own geopolitical agenda, operates globally, and maintains strict operational security through encrypted communications, brain implants, and numeric identification systems.

Assassin Training Program

A comprehensive childhood indoctrination program starting at age 8 that trains children in assassination techniques, poisons, explosives, and Sym energy abilities. The program forces children to develop their abilities to maximum potential and innovate new use cases, creating highly skilled operatives through excessive training and early character formation.

Cultures & Governments

15 Large Cultures

Notable cultures that unified large segments of the target planet's territory. An estimated 45% of the entire planet was being controlled by these cultures 5000 years ago, but it is unlikely that any of them still exist as they were continually engaged in war. They exhibited all of the social and political systems found on Earth already 5000 years ago and have likewise seen a variety of systems that Earth is yet to experience.

Real Democracy

A government structure where the population votes on every issue that decides the direction of the country. This was described as a complete disaster since the population lacks the skills and knowledge to lead effectively. The population of a country is not automatically a good operator of that country or has the skills and knowledge to lead the country.

Constrained Anarchy

A system where approximately 20 large tribes compete for dominance but are forced to collaborate due to interdependence and common religion. The system works well in hostile environments with limited resources. The populations of the tribes were kept static due to the hostile environment and limited resources while their geographic separation made unification impossible since governance was difficult across areas with hostile creatures constantly fighting and killing those who seek to travel. According to their religion, each generation will birth one or more heroes which brings great prosperity to the tribes. For them, nourishing their offspring and turning them into strong warriors was a greater goal than any attempts at unification.

Bartering Capitalism

A society where currency was banned for fear of instability and government abuse. The economy operated through bartering goods, with severe limitations on currency-like commodities like gold and silver. It was only allowed to use currency-like commodities such as gold and silver up to the value of what a normal household would spend in a month. For any larger quantities, it was not permitted to use any currency-like payments. This led to a variety of interesting effects where companies would not be able to concentrate significant wealth outside of the physical services they provided while individuals had no need to accumulate significant amounts of gold over a certain threshold since they were not allowed to spend it anyways. The country was operating under this rule for only 20 years when the data collection stopped.

Gender Separation System

A government structure based on gender differences in decision-making abilities. Men controlled governance, technology, science, regulations, and laws while women controlled society design, cities, education, and nurturing facilities. It was postulated that women and men differ greatly in their ability to make decisions and that men were suited for any decisions that related to objects while women were more suited to making decisions when it came to people. The Rasp found this separation immensely intriguing but it did not seem to have the benefits that were hypothesized since many of the internal functions ended up unstable and communication between the male and the female decision makers were highly polarized.

Eugenics

A popular practice across many governments in this world aimed at breeding offspring with desirable Sym energy accumulation traits. Families often practice eugenics to retain and strengthen their power. They also often keep secret training methods and documentation on abilities to avoid them from leaking to the public, as abilities are the most sought-after intellectual property in this world.

Miscellaneous

Data & Numbers

5.4 Months

The time it took the assistant to find an appropriate location for Jack's dimensional jump, longer than the initially estimated 2-3 months due to exceptionally difficult simulations.

3.2 Months

The time required for the seed device to reach full charge through sunlight irradiation in Jack's hospital room.

2-3 Months

The time the assistant needs to locate suitable planets for Jack's dimensional jump, during which it will be unavailable for communication.

70-Year War

An ongoing conflict between the three major alliances that has lasted over 70 years, though individual disputes within the alliances date back hundreds or thousands of years. The war has no simple cause and is the result of many small and expensive conflicts between nations. The alliances were formed to enforce small nations' conflicts, which then gave enemies new causes for more wars, creating a system of perpetuating conflict that was not designed to be resolvable.

The time Jack spends digging to reach groundwater by stomping into the ground and crushing rocks.

10 Seconds

The duration of Jack's fight with the octopus-eagle hybrid creature, which ends with Jack stomping on its head and making it explode.

50,000 Years

The minimum time that dangerous creatures have inhabited the high-Sym energy area on the target planet.

5000 Years

The time period since the Rasp's last data collection from the target planet, making all information potentially outdated.

12,000 Abilities

The approximate number of abilities that are likely related to brain accumulation, according to the assistant's records. If Jack were to accumulate energy in his entire brain, he would experience many side effects from all abilities activating simultaneously.

30,000 Techniques

The approximate number of different Sym energy techniques that humans have displayed on the target planet, recorded by the Rasp.

3000 Languages

The approximate number of languages that existed on the target planet at the time of the last data collection 5000 years ago.

2000 Meters

The distance Jack can see through the fog when he circulates Sym energy into his eyes for an extended period.

2.5 Kilometers

The maximum distance Jack can see through the fog after reaching the maximum of his visual enhancement.

1.5 Kilometers

The distance between Jack and the humanoid creature when it stares back at him, causing Jack's entire body to shake with fear.

300 Meters

The distance between Jack and the octopus-eagle hybrid creature when they first encounter each other on the cliff.

100 Meters

The distance that the humanoid creature punches a large creature, sending it flying across the stone desert. The distance that the humanoid creature punches a large creature, sending it flying across the stone desert.

8 Meters Tall

The height of one of the giant creatures Jack observes in the distance, which moves in bizarre patterns with some in slow motion and others appearing sped up.

7 Meters

The length of the octopus-eagle hybrid creature's body, which is flat but long, resembling Chinese dragons.

1 Meter

The height of the octopus-eagle hybrid creature, making it very thin and aerodynamic despite its length.

Fingernail-Sized Brain Region

The approximate size of the brain area where Jack concentrates Sym energy for learning the portal technique. The assistant guides energy into this small area in Jack's brain, approximately as large as a fingernail.

119 Dimensions

The number of dimensions that the assistant searched through to find suitable planets for Jack's dimensional jump.

65% Unaccounted Territory

The vast areas of the planet not controlled by the three major alliances, representing several Earths combined in size. This territory contains unknown powers with sufficient resources to infiltrate restricted areas and deploy advanced spy teams, suggesting the existence of other major civilizations or organizations beyond the known alliances.

55 English Characters

The character limit for messages that can be burned into sheets during dimensional jumps, used for farewell messages or coordinate identification.

50 Creatures

The approximate number of creatures in the caravan that Jack observes moving together in perfect harmony, led by a humanoid creature.

Three Potential Targets

The three planets the assistant found across 119 dimensions for Jack's dimensional jump. The first has random Sym energy clouds passing through the atmosphere, the second has high Sym energy but an unstable core, and the third (chosen) has 20% high-density and 80% low-density Sym energy areas.

Stage 5-8 Instability

A measure of planetary core instability where stage 5 shows signs of instability and stage 7-8 has a significant probability of planetary destruction. The second potential target planet had stage 5 instability 5000 years ago, making it too risky for Jack's dimensional jump.

4 AM

The optimal time for Jack's dimensional jump to avoid damages to the hospital's operations.

809

The telepathy user's numeric code name from the spy team, representing the organization's practice of using numeric identifiers instead of personal names. This naming system reflects the dehumanizing nature of the assassin training program and the organization's emphasis on operational security over personal identity.

Items & Concepts

Killer Instinct

A mindset that Jack tries to develop before his dimensional jump, focusing on the concept of "kill or be killed" to prepare for survival in the hostile environment.

Purple Fog

A visual manifestation of high-density Sym energy that gives creatures a menacing appearance and limits visibility to approximately 100 meters. High-density Sym energy has a tendency to generate a purple looking fog which gives the creatures a rather menacing appearance.

Sushi and Sashimi

Jack's favorite food on Earth, particularly raw fish in soy sauce. He was a connoisseur of these dishes and would demand to go to sushi restaurants for every birthday. The creature tentacles remind him of sashimi but with enhanced flavor due to the Sym energy.

Leather Diaper

Jack's makeshift clothing made from creature leather, wrapped around his lower body like a diaper. He later transforms it into something more akin to shorts.

Leather Bag

A bag Jack creates from creature leather to carry extra food supplies and leather materials. He also creates a leather drinking bag to carry water.

Finger Holes

Small holes that Jack punches into the ground with his index finger every few meters to leave a discreet trail and find his way back. He becomes versed in strengthening his body with Sym energy so punching holes into rock is easy for him.

Assassination Attempt

A coordinated attack on Jack by unknown forces using a sophisticated spy team with diverse abilities. The attempt involves visual surveillance, mind control distraction, and a high-powered sniper shot, representing the first major threat to Jack's safety from forces outside the known alliances and demonstrating the complexity of the planet's political landscape.

Magnitude 3 Earthquake

The expected impact of Jack's dimensional jump on the hospital building, along with temporary disruption of wifi and cell reception for 1-3 minutes.
